a letter to my former teacher
Dear Mrs Yeo,
How are you recently? Seeing you in the library the other day con firmed some of my thoughts that you are recovering well. Many events have been happening in school that I’m sure you have been told about by the teachers. So, here’s my review of the events.
Firstly, the Shanghai-Singapore twinning had their incoming trip as we had gone there last November. I was involved in the programme as I had signed up for it. The Shanghai students were to stay with us in our houses and try to immerse themselves in a typical Singaporean lifestyle. Although there are some things that China Chinese do that are very unhygienic like not brushing teeth for four days in a row, this is not a complaining session and I shall not gloat over their problems.
While the Shanghai students were here, they were requested to put up a performance during the Chinese New Year concert. A girl played the violin and a latter performance was by a boy doing a solo singing set. They both put up a very good show. Some cheeky students from Kent Ridge even went up on stage in the midst of the boy’s song to present gifts to him. There were other performances also put up by the dance, drama club, choir and of course, our band.
Recently, we’ve also had our first round of common tests. I found them difficult as I really did’nt understand chemistry, maths and physics. So I plan to have a daily schedule for revision so as to improve my grades.
A lot of events have been happening recently so I really hope that you will come back to the Kent Ridge family. We really miss you and I personally hope you will recover soon. A lot of your tips in English summary has really helped me. So I am looking forward to you teaching again. See you soon…
Sincerely,
Charles Theseira
